You can add the sand first if you want. Mix up...
You can add the sand first if you want. Mix up your salt water before adding it to the tank. The new sand will cloud up the tank for a few days. You can use a canister filter to help clear it up.

I had mine in a 70 gallon tank with LR, obviously no other tank mates. The larger the tank the better with octos. Def check out Tonmo.com as mentioned above.
