Adding sand

ive got my sand for the tank im starting up. the tank has never been used before is it allright to add the sand before i fill it with ro water? its not live sand. then i want to add my live rock. is the sand going to make it really cloudy and if so for how long? thanks

You can add the sand first if you want. Mix up your salt water before adding it to the tank. The new sand will cloud up the tank for a few days. You can use a canister filter to help clear it up.

rinse the sand first and it will reduce the cloudy water greatly.
yes youll have some cloudy appearance for about 1 maybe 2 days maximum. as long as your not curculating so much it disturbs the sand, prolonging the cloudy effects. once its settled add your rock.

Hello you should put live rock in first then put sand in it will help keep it where you put it and also nothing will be able to burrow under your live rock and start a rock slide. Just my opinion Good Luck Bill

you can turn on a filter if you wish. but get replacement cartriges ready for your filter. use a skimmer will pull out the junk you can just throw away and rinse.
