Not sure if this will help your specific problem, but Ocean Nutrition's Formula One was developed to help keep the color of Clownfishes from being dull... it's worth a shot IMO

I'd suggest reading every post you can find on sand beds... The mimimum depth on a DSB should be 3", though...

The mimimum depth on a DSB should be 3", though more is better... if you have less than 3" you run into a situation where it is not deep enough for denitrification, yet is too deep for normal modes...

I think this is a BAD idea!! Yes, there are tanks this size that are rimless, but I believe that they are thicker glass and can stand the pressures as thicker glass also...
