Hey guys. It has been quite a long time since I last posted so I just wanted to let you all know how everything is going. I have been rather lazy and have not placed the trap for the mantis shrimp, so needless to say he is still somewhere in there.

I had not heard from him in a while but the last few days I have started hearing the dreaded cracking noise again I just have not seen him. I will keep you all posted regarding my mantis as I am sure you are all on the edge of your seats. lol

Now since it has been roughly 8 months since I set up my tank I just wanted to bring you guys up to speed with it. I recently added a couple of corals, sponges and gorgonians that I purchased at the lfs including this one ......

[IMG][/IMG]

It was added about 1 1/2 weeks ago and is now st`arting to open quite nicely and I also added a little clam that I got for a pretty good price.....

Now I really like zoos and really like to have variety of them but if you buy a nice sized rock than it can get pretty expensive so I went on ebay and purchased a few. I was really impressed with the seller as I received my package the following day by like 10:00 am and it came really well packaged.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Now, not only did it come with a cool pack but all corals came individually bagged in not 1 or 2 but 3bags with oxygen....

Here are the frags I got. I wish I could get more color out of them but unfortunantely I use 10k lighting......

I was however dissapointed when it arrived and I found this.....

[IMG][/IMG]

and even more so when I came to find that the bag that was leaking was the one holding this guy........

[IMG][/IMG]

a 6" tear drop clam (I called the company and left a message just in case it would not make it but lickily it seems to be doing fine) This pic was taken a few hours later.......

The tank is looking great! I'm glad to see that the clam made it.

Some of us are night owls. It's 3:49 over here. I go on my computer when i can't go to sleep though.

Thanks for all your praises. We all try to create something that we can be proud of. I can only hope to one day have something as nice as some of the tanks I've seen here from those posting on this and other threads.

Beuatiful tank! I have the same AGA tank with dual corner overflows. I'm thinking about removing one of them to use the predrilled holes in the bottom of the tank for a closed loop. How is just having the one overflow working for you? Are you getting enough volume into your sump?

Also, how are you feeding your tank? Are you doing any special feeding for those sponges?

TIA

Thanks. The single overflow is proving to be sufficient. I have a panworld 50px-x and a tunze powerhead that between the both are giving me roughly 20x turn over ratio I had to remove the other tunze I have cause it was just too much circulation(sand was blowing all over the place). I may end up getting a tunze nano or a koralia just for a little bit extra but I dont really feel I need it. As far as the sponges, I feed coral accel, zooplex, phytoplex, micro vert, trace elements, iron and chromaplex and they seem to be doing fine.

Thanks. I ended up having to stain it twice. First with an oil based stain which I hated and then with a gel
