Nice tank! They do good work, don't they?
Mines made for 3/8" spartech as well. Looks awesome. Wish I had the room, or I would have had them make mine bigger.

I like the rounded corners. How'd you do that so nice?

Keep up the nice work

I believe socalcreations used a router for all the holes and on the corners, although i think he used a table router for the corners. not 100% sure, you'd have to ask them. Just email him, i'm sure he'd be happy to answer you. But the next time i talk to him, i'd be sure to ask him. They did it to their tank and asked me if i liked it, and that it could be done to mine too.

More than likely, they used a roundover bit (maybe 1/4" rad?) in a smaller (usually handheld) router (laminate trimmer?) after flushcutting. It's a nice touch from time to time to soften the edges, esp if the household has small children where sharp corners can be hazardous.

Looks good, nice job SoCal

Yep! But 3/8" roundover in a handheld router. Then all the edges were sanded and then polished with a polishing wheel for a super clear look. We started doing this on almost all of our tanks as it gives the tank a real nice finished look!

Thanks James for the compliments!

Hmm, if I ever become one, I'd have the right to say but for me every day is a school day

Tank looks cool, one question though, why didnt you go for a black back and side acrylic? Most people end up painting their tanks in the end, are you thinking of doing a special color or color transition?

Tank is going to rock when its done! Good luck.

Colored back cost a lot more. It wouldn't of been much cause its only one side, but I also like to see my overflowbox too. So i made it clear. If i move and put it into the wall later, i will put a piece of black paper on the sides though. But not the back of the overflow box, so i'd still be able to see in it. This tank if i move will be an inwall or a room divider, thats why it was made 3 side viewable. If you look at socalcreations.com i am interested later on when i move to do something like that but with all three sides. And then a cabinet to put all my wiring in. Although it isn't viewable from 3 sides right now, its still very beautiful and i ain't going to complain =).

Sweet tank!
I saw it when it was almost complete, it turned out real nice.
I got a sump from them, they do real good work.
Have fun with it.

Nice tank! Mine's going to be 30" tall too and wow, they really tall. I'm having fits thinking about scraping coraline off the bottom front....

pho: i am running a sequence dart. if however that is not powerful enough i will turn off one of the ballvalves and put another one in. there is already a line in the middle that has close loop, that i am using just as a drain only. We'd see if its not enough power. (if i have enough circulation then a tunze wavebox is the next thing i order )

yea with a 30" tall tank i had a hard time. i could not stand in my tank due to the celling is low. I am however thinking about hanging lights or something else. Having a hard time with the lights as my 660 icecaps is having a fuse problem. Icecaps said they would take care of it and so i am probably sending out tomorrow, as i keep forgetting.

skamin: i'd try to get some pics, its just near a wall and i had to return my digital camera due to it flaking out. I also sprung a leak, well actually i found out while i was screwing in the unions i, unscrewed the top threads where the bulkheads were. So =) had to tear it down, i hope i'd have it back up. working on it right now, and then i'd also take more pictures. I'd try to borrow my friend's digital camera or something.

Are you able to take some close up pics of the Loc lines with eductors attached, I would like to see how you completed this... Can you attach the eductors to the 3/4" loc line without having the shutoff valves between them ??

Shawn
