rod had to prime the pump last night but, WE HAVE WATER! w0000t!!! we also have more ice falling from the sky and this is supposed to keep up for the next couple of days.
the power went off last night for just a few seconds and i thought...OHHH NOOOO!!! but this morning, so far, so good. not sure if it'll STAY on, time will tell. they are out in town. nana just called, she stayed in town at gary's brother's last night because she could not get her feet warm at home. the power in town has been out for over an hour this morning. i need to fill up my water containers this morning, just in case. so, if you don't see me, you'll know why! who fooled mother nature???

Oh Nina, I'm so sorry you've been without food and power. I had no idea until this morning. I've been off line for a couple of days. Hope everything is back to normal and stays normal. Get out and get some food you can store away in case this happens again.

i hope you get this south wind we are getting. it's keeping us just above freezing (it's 33F out there). but i don't know what's going to happen tonight, the radar doesn't look happy.
frozen fog is weird!

jeff is fine. after he lost power, he went to city to room with a friend.
more ice and snow is scheduled for us tonight and tomorrow. i'm not in any hurry to clean up my mess, i'm only doing what i have to now. in jan/feb i may bring a friend over with his bucket truck to help trim some trees. then i'll start cleaning up the ground. besides, the birds like the branches laying about.

my other boys rescued the damsel in distress.
i came home from work yesterday and two of gary's nephews had most of the limbs cleaned up. they cut everything away that was broken off and hauled it all to a huge burn pile. they still have some work to do and will be back a few times over the next couple of weeks with their chain saws.gary's trees look pitiful but what the heck, everything looks yukky this time of year so i guess i'll have to live with it for now. i talked at length yesterday about this generator business with george. a friend of his has a generator he was gonna bring out here for me but we decided that when it comes right down to it, this was the ONLY time in 10 years that anybody out here would have used one. so, with george's help, i decided that i would not get one. george and cheri and gary's mom have lived out here for almost 30 years and i am told that this was the longest period of time the electricity had ever been out. i think i panicked.  so, i won't be in need of a clean-up crew BUT, this humongous pile of tree limbs will have to be burned in the spring and when we burn limbs, we have a party so there WILL be a PARTY AT NINA'S in spring '08 and everybody's welcome!!!

ohhhh coooookies.
 i wondered why i haven't heard from you! i almost called you last night and i, ummm, fell asleep on the couch. when i woke up, it was midnight. i'm on my way out to scoop 6" of new snow off the deck, fill the bird feeders and chase horse turds. ahhhh, winter!
