If this is just for backup I would not worry about running lights. Also the problem with generators like the briggs stration, Hondas etc you have to be there to start them and switch the power over....

This is a great point. You also need to look at your local reef clubsto see what they are buying. If you can sell something localy without the shiping hassel you will be alot better off.
