I've been battling this stuff for almost a year now. I did notice a reduction in it's growth after I added a kalk reactor and maintained a higher ph and alk. ph is 8.2-8.4 and alk is 3.5-4.0 meq/l....

I used to use the night time mode on my Tunze...

I used to use the night time mode on my Tunze multi controller. Now I just run my streams 100%(no pulsing) 24/7. I really don't even need the multi controller anymore.

Everything you feed will have some phosphate in it. Some more than others. A phosphate reactor is a cheap and very effective way of controlling phosphate levels.

Might try adding a Phosban reactor and a no light for 3 days cycle once a month or so. They can be very tough to beat, but will usually cycle out eventually.
