I have a 55 gallon stand as well. I built my sump for about 100 bucks and was able to customize it. 10" X 16" X 32" (w/h/l). It was a little tricky getting it together, but it works out nicely!

I have a two spot goby...he keeps his sand at the bottom of the tank. He works hard for such a little guy...albeight he has gotten bigger in the last two months! I still have stuff floating though...
