Garlic Soaked Foods?
Is there a food you can buy at LFS or is this a DIY? I have a jar of Minced Garlic in the fridge... Can I use this? If so, should I only use the juice in the jar or add pieces of minced garlic? Would like more information on this as I would like to do as much as I can to insure the health of the Tangs. Also, is the garlic reefsafe? Any problems if other fish eat it?

The speculation with garlic is that it will help/boost the animals appetite, and immune system to help fight sickness and parasites. But all is speculation, and personaly assumptions so far.
That being said, I use Formula 1's garlic supplemented pellet food. My fish love it and havent had any ich outbreaks and fish's health is great with vibrant colors. -Justin

I know there's a lot of debate on the subject, but my own personal experience is positive. I've had a small blue tang that's been fighting a slight case of ick since I got him. It's gotten much better without any meds or special treatments.
I have been supplementing his diet with garlic and I believe it is helping him fight it. Whether it's boosting his immune system, or just keeping him strong by eating, I don't know, but it seems to help. I have mixed minced garlic, but lately I've been using an extract made by Kent called Xtreme Garlic. |
