problem with toadstool
hey!
my toadstool coral had its polyps retracted for a few days and now the polyp"ish" tentacles are coming out again, only problem is, is that there is a "phlegmish" membraneous transparent layer covering it, I do not know what this is or if I should get rid of this sort of a bubble covering. There was no adhesive or epoxy used on this coral and there are no pics because my parents have the camera and they are in the dominican republic. Any ideas, advice, help, anything is appreciated! Thanks |

leathers "shed" every so often, during that time they retract their polyps and shed some tissue.
sounds like that might be what is goin on with yours. |

i agree it is shedding, make sure it has good waterflow to help remove the old skin

yep...mine sheds all the time and is growing really fast. You can also cut a piece off (frag) and mount it. I have done this several times...it doesn't matter what size piece - it grows fast
