guess on amount of cash you have dropped for your tank

just curious if ya'll have any idea what kind of money ya'll have put into your tanks. Put your gallon size and price you think you have spent so far total.

As long as my hubby cannot read these....OK, 1st tank, 50 gallon long tank and stand were used, with rock and lights etc. around 1000. I cringe! We have two at the moment, a 29 g and a 90 g, withthe first one condensed, the 29 is at around 400. And the 90(used) is at around 600. Its so hard to break them down when I only put MH over the 29 (taken from the 1st 50g., part of the time). The 90 g is just starting to turn reef with one set of T5'5. I got a lucky break with rock and like 5 fish for 50 bucks on that one! really kept the startup $ down.

Are we accounting for mistakes too....I cannot even admit to how much money I have spent on things that currently collect dust.....I know I have spent at least 4-5 k on my tank, many remodels, and still searching for better. BTW, only a 55 gallon tank. Good luck, and happy reefing...

Yeah, wasted another $4k on my 65 that i had before this...learned a lot since then....pays to go with better stuff up front and bigger than u need when applicable. At least now i have stuff that will work up to 220gal tank without any problem.

Due to lack of room, i recently pulled the wavemaker out and changed one of the drivers from 6100 to 6000 since it is on the LPS and softy side of the tank.

I have no clue, but for my current setups(listed in my current tanks section) I have spent more than 15K in 2 years and if you include power, etc., I'm looking upwards of 20K. I have serious addiction problems and need to stop trying to get ALL the cool things. Bear in mind, this is for six tanks and a whole bunch of other things I have still yet to get around to, including a 180G, and a bunch of tanks ranging from 20-40G each.

I will tell you, I have calmed down significantly now that I am almost out of room. I would say on average, maybe 300-500 each month including utilities increase, or 100-300 on corals, fish, foods, buffers, equipment, etc.

Once I get my clownfish breeding set up and get my pair to breed, I'm hoping they will support my whole expenses per month and possibly make me a few bucks here and there, but that is still at least a year off as my clowns are still babies.
