Giant Bubbles in my skimmer. need some help.

I have a new skimmer, it's a recirculating skimmer that's 32" tall, with a dual chamber and it's got a becket air injector deal..

I have an Iwaki 55 hooked up to it for the circulation and a rio1100 feeding it water from my sump,, and it seems to all work great except every 10 to 30 seconds it gets giant bubble going up through the chamber, basically bubbles are collecting at the the top of the box at the base of the skimmer and then joining up and then releasing into the main chamber up the neck preventing it from skimming properly... I've tried adjusting the air intake (has a built in airflow meter so it's easy) and I've tried cutting back on the iwaki power, switched pumps, nothing makes any difference.

Now I don't know much about designing a skimmer, but there has to be some way to prevent the bubbles from collecting at the top of the box and sending huge bubbles up the neck.
