Question Weldon locally/hot tub strainer

Does anyone know where you can get weldon locally? Also looking for a local spa place, b/c I'm looking for an intake strainer for my CL. I read here on RC that they have a lower profile. Thanks!

I have about 2 feet of 2" strainer that you could use. It fits over the top of standard 2" PVC. It is this stuff right here:

http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/.../8559/cid/2079

This is exactly what i use for my closed loop strainer and it works perfect, no weldon required. I do not think you'd want to glue it, having it removable makes it far easier to clean.

Thanks Bryan but I only have a 1" bulkhead. Unlike you I don't have millions of gallons going through my system. How did you make it work? It looks like it's intended for a stand pipe. Oh, and the weldon is for other projects. I wouldn't dream of permently glueing something inside of my tank.

You can get plastic mesh screening like that of what Bryan posted at Wal-mart. Its not in tubular form but a sheet that could be formed to fit your 1". Some pizza joints use a plastic mesh under their pizzas.. I like pizza so I probably have some around that I could give you.. Personally I would just make a strainer out of PVC fittings with many holes drilled in it.. May not be low profile enough though.

Ya, I got some of that to put over my overflows. I'm just trying to find something as low proflie as possible. The intake is going to behing the rock work, so lower the better.

Thanks Bryan! I'm glad you responded I hadn't checked this thread in a while. I had no idea there were 3 place in Rockford. Oh course I was being lazy and posting the question instead of researching myself. LOL

Abbott also had Novus 1, 2 and 3 of which I purchased one of each. Those products are acrylic polishes and scratch removers. I removed all external scratches from the tank yesterday in about 2 hours of work. I really like acrylic now!

Benjie, don't you 'research' the use of new isotopes for the care of medical patients?

Actually I was being serious.. People always say that you should do your own research before posting the question.. Well, to me, research is finding out as much as you can, and what better place to start than to ask on a message board that has thousands of members and lots of different opinions/experiences. Thats what these boards are for, No?

I agree Rod. I was just giving Benjie a hard time. Thanks again Benjie for the Yellow Coris. Funny thing, my white cheek tang mercilessly chased the yellow coris as soon as I put it in the tank and for the next two days afterwards. I was going to take the yellow coris out, but it finally settled in and is now doing well.
