Not sure where or when this one will be yet, Marks house or mine. If Mark Is not interested in hosting, I will. I'll stay on top of this and let everyone know.

John, I can get a 50# bag of Tetra Flake no problem. It is the same thing as Dow Flake, it is 77-80% Calcium Chloride. It's what I'm using, if you want a bag let me know and I can get it to you this weekend.

Tell me how long have you been using it? How much do you add how often? and which Alk. solution do you use low ph or other.

Is it possible to make it at a meeting? if so You want to help make some at the meeting? We could let anyone who wanted some take home some.

Ps. Yes I would like a bag if it's not too much trouble. What does a bag cost?

thanks,

I'm using Randy's recipe #1 from the Reef Chemistry forum for about one week now adding 1 ml per gallon per day of parts 1 & 2 and have not added any of part 3 yet.

It is possible to make it at the meeting, I have only made one batch but I will help. The only thing that took time was baking the baking soda for an hour at 300 degrees to drive off the moisture (one of us could do that ahead of time).

The Tetra Flake is about $20 for a 50# bag, it should be enough to make some for everyone that wants some.

I thought we could make a batch, so everyone could see it done and then send anyone that wanted to try it home with a measured amount of tetra, and they could pickup their baking soda on there way home. Mainly want to go through the process and hand out a sample of the tetra so those that want, could try it.

Pick me up a bag please, you could bring to the meeting or could meet you when ever.

Well,

The latest on the August meeting is SAT. the 19th. at 4:00 pm.

A diy workshop making Randy's 2 part Calcium / Alk. is planed as part of the meeting. You will not need to bring any thing for this workshop. We will be making a sample amount and handing out measured amounts of the dowflake so everyone can make there own at home. This way everyone will not have to carry jugs of liquid around, but will see the process. The Dowflake has been ordered and should be here by the 19th. Whole process should take approx. 1 hour .

Refreshments will either be pizza or subway.

So who plans to attend??????????

It looks great. Now all I have to do is find the time to put it all together. I hope to start another thread with some questions I have so everyone can help me out. See you all Saturday!
