Carpet Anemone

Any advice for those of you who have carpet anemones. I am looking for a green one. Blues are nice, but really expensive. Have anyone seen one for sale lately at a store?

I used to have a blue carpet. It was very expensive! I seem to recall it having a very expensive diet.

I've been wanting to add a blue carpet to my tank also, but like Greg has already said, they'll eat everything in ur tank. I rather not risk my tangs falling prey to them.

They do grow big...FAST!
Could take up alot of your tank's precious real estate and/or
kill neighboring corals it comes into contact.

OTOH, I love watching it eat! lol

Good luck finding one right now. There are non at the wholesaler. And if you do find someone selling any expect to pay 100$+. Youll need MH for these anemones since they'll be way low in the sand.

i have had a green carpet in my 29 gallon tank for over 3 years. he is hosted by a marron clown. this clown brings him food every day and he feeds the anemone before he feeds himself. my anemone had been under pc all this time as well. i have thought of putting halides on this tank but i can not justify the cost of a chiller and electricy on this tank. just my personal experiences on a carpet. if you feed it regulary your chances of losing fish will be less

Then get me one when you go down there

All 5 LFS I go to tell me the same thing Gabriel. They think they are out of season because I told all of the to get me one. Divers arent allowed to collect some species of stuff 24/7. Im guessing S.Haddoni may fall into that category?

Sea Dwelling Creatures has had at least two seperate shipments of Blue Haddonis in the last three weeks. 5-10 blue ones in each shipments. Your LFSs are full of it.
These are the first I've seen in a while though.

They had 6 or 7 on Monday June 17th and they had a new shipment listed on their price list again today.
Obviously they go pretty fast if they are in good shape. Maybe your guys don't go out there on the right days, or don't hit all the places.

Are there alot of jobbers on RC? If a jobber sees this I'm looking for a pair of latezonatus clownfish, I'll pay a finders fee + inflation, etc.
