Firefish, clowns, gobys, blennies, certain damsels, chromis can all be good starter fish.

Thr Sixline mentioned above will get aggresive. So keep that in mind. Just do a little research as to what fish are coral/reef safe.

A yellow watchman goby: they get used to you, and pretty soon they'll come out to watch you. They're funny little guys with bulldog faces and attitude to match, but completely harmless. It's all bluster.

Im sure they can be. This hobby can be like rolling the dice everytime you introduce a new being to their little enclosed world. So many different combonations to say what will work and what will not. It does depend on the tank size, tank mates, who was added first, available diet, etc. The Sixline Wrasse is a moderately aggressive feeder on some of the same organisms favored by slower, more methodical grazing feeders like Dragonets and Rainford's and Hector's Gobies. Mixing Sixlines in a smaller tank (less than 75 gallons) with slower "pod" predators may result in the starvation death of these other species as the Wrasse easily outcompetes them for naturally available foods. All I was saying, that the sixline may not be a good "first fish" because the may become aggresive.

I would stay away from the puffer unless you want all your other fish to be feeders! Damsels are easy and hardy, but the become VERY aggressive, especially if they're first in the tank, and you'll never get 'em out later without taking apart your whole tank.

Clowns, chromis, and gobies are all good choices.
