I'll be getting a Sixline and Yellow Watchman soon, so I'm looking for feedback from people who have these fish. Any kind of info would be great.
TIA

I have a yellow watchman, I like them, they always look mad. They are good sandsifters, but they will also eat about anything else.
I have never had a sixline, but I hear that they will eat all your pods, and should not be kept with a fish that only eats pods. |

I have a yellow watchman paired with a Randall's pistol shrimp and love them. I've had them for about a year now and haven't had any problems with it being territorial or anything of that nature. I also had a sixline wrasse and I'm sorry that I personally can't say the same for him. While he (or she?) was an incredibly beautiful fish, it turned out to be a terror in my tank after about 6 months. At first it was pretty peaceful but it ended up harassing *everything* in the tank. It wouldn't allow the goby/pistol to go more than 1 inch from there burrow and it constantly chased my clowns. It wouldn't even allow my fire shrimp to come from behind the rocks, it just went after anything that moved it seemed. I have heard opposite stories, though, of people having no problems whatsoever with them. I was lucky enough to be able to catch this booger with a homemade trap and he went straight to the LFS. While they are stikingly beautiful, I personally would never put another one in my tank.

Well, the person I'm getting them from has them in the same tank, so I think they're compatible. They didn't tell me if the wrasse causes any problems, so I hope I'll be ok.

I keep 6line in my 10g office tank and I love it.
It's beatiful and graceful and people really like it. It ate all my pods but I put a big pile of shells in a back of a tank and they successfuly live there. Fish eats flake food.

The watchman may be shy, if he sets up a burrow at the back of the tank you'll probably never see him. I had one in a tank for over a year and thought he had died until I tore the tank down... I don't have a lot of personal experience with the wrasse, but friends who had them never had problems.

My yellow watchman and 6line hate each other. They flare up and chase each other around my 20 quite a bit. That being said though, neither has actually ever hurt each other. They are like children, they have big spats where they chase each other around, but nobody ever throws a punch.

My six-line is great. Expert swimmer, in and out of holes like you wouldnt imagine. If he eats pods, he sure aint eating them all. My Mandarin gets his share too. Thing is, my 60gal fuge produces plenty of pods for everyone. I even watch them in the overflow from behind.
The Six-line sometimes thinks he's king of the tank. When a new fish is added, he'll harass him until he gets used to the idea. VERY territorial but not a big enough mouth to actually bite another fish. Great coloring and personality but they do have the tendency to commit suicide every now and again, so watch out. |

![]() I've had a diamond goby jump, a false perc jump, a line goby jump, but have NEVER seen any fish jump out of the tank as much as a Six-Line Wrasse. Weird. |

I had the same experience was jarhead. The first two fish in my Nanocube was a purple firefish and a sixline wrasse. Both got together perfectly fine. I added in a hector goby which is considerably smaller and thought everything was okay. The next day the hector was all beat up and found out it was the sixline because he would occasionally pick at the hector. Couple days later, the six line never bothered the hector again even when swimming up right next to him.
