Moving Reef Tank from Phoenix to Chicago
Ok, I am relocating to Chicago from Phoenix for work and I am very puzzled on what to do with my reef tank. I don't have many corals (maybe 5) and I currently do not have any fish. But I have 140 pounds of live rock, live sand, and a 120 gallon tank. Along with all the equipment needed for a reef tank.
I can manage moving all the equipment and the tank, but I'm puzzled on what to do with the live occupants. In addition to the corals, I have a few crabs, a few shrimp, a few dozen snails, a few dozen hermit crabs, etc. I will be driving a u-haul from Phoenix to Chicago and I estimate that it will take me three days to drive it. Should I sell my livestock. I'm sure that the rock will survive the trip, but what about everything else. Thanks for the responses. |

maporsche, Congratulations on your move to Chicago!
I agree with Menard, there are several great LFS in the Chicago area who can help you get back up and running! We have a great group of reefers on www.cmas.net and will look forward to welcoming you! Don't hesitate to PM me if you need any information! Boyd
