A 4" horse conch. I have no idea how it got in there, and a huge Fireworm, probably 18-24", hard to tell because they can stretch so thin, also no idea how it got in. I'm assuming both hitchhiked in at very small sizes.

I didn't know what it was at first, and thought it was a reflection tricking my eyes. When I pulled it out, it took a few seconds for me to put two and two together.

Then I saw this:

If it's a SE there shouldn't be any UV issues should there? Or is that only if the bulb is still in tact?

I found a dead shark egg that must have came off my rock or something. The egg was about 1.5'' long. Also found a paper clip and I have no idea how that got in there.

I found a blenny that hitch hiked on my live rock. I also got a clingfish on my live rock. The blenny has since died and the cling fish was put back into the ocean where it came from.

Once the outer shell is cracked or broken, UV is leaking. That is how I understand it.

I found a chiton, he really freaked me out the first time I saw him. He had apparantly lived in the tank, unseen, for nearly a year before that day (the last time I added any LR was at least nine months ago). He's getting big - around 1.5" now - and coming out every night. I can see where he's been during the night, he leaves trails in the coralline that covers the back wall.
I also found a cherry red mantis in the same tank, that must have also been there for nearly a year; I removed a coral for fragging, and he fell off the skeleton - just about into my lap! I saved him and gave him a home in my 5.5g, haven't seen him since I added him months ago.
I guess those aren't too unusual, but the amount of time they went unnoticed is what I find fascinating.

Here's the chiton:

My friend's tank that was filled with chocolate chip cookies. His 5 yrs old son decided to feed the tank and thought chocolate chip cookies would make the fish happy. It sure did, alright.

I found about a 16" bobbit worm. What an incredibly creepy looking animal. Apparently they can grow many many feet long in the wild and look like the sand worms from "Dune."
