I wish my BTA would Bubble!

Has anyone figured out what makes BTA bubble? Mine did for 3 day when I got him, but now he don't. I have had him 3 months.

I don't know what causes it. It did not have bubbles when I bought it two years ago. One morning several months later it had bubbles & has ever since. I don't think I do anything different..just lucky. I also put him on this rock near the top of tank 2 years ago & he has never moved!

55 gallon
RBTA..no clown hosting
220 Watts PC & 108 watts T5
Alternate feeding fresh shrimp & whole silversides

I took my clown out..He beat the anemone up too bad plus stealing food. He would actually go inside the anemone after he ate & steal his food.

Exactly, the best i have come up with is a area thing on where they are collected. I have 4 in my 60 1 always has bubble tips and 3 never get them. NO ONE KNOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who says they do is full of ish. They cannot replicate it. Hell the bubble and non bubble are touching each other so it is just an known unknown and not an unknown unknown.

Hmmm.. One of my hypothesis is...lower light. When i bought my RBTA they had it under crappy PCs at the store, the bubbles where beautiful. Took it home..3x250 14Ks.. bubbles gone. VHOs go on in the morning, amazing bubbles come up..then they become stringy. So, there are many hypothesis...

1- take the clowns away and it will bubble
-In nature they dont lose their bubbles and they have families of clowns hosting.

2-they bubble after a large meal.
-Ive seen this happen a few times (large meal IMO is 2-3 silversides)

3-Low light (ive experienced that one a few times)

Anybody has anymore? Maybe we can knock them 1 by 1.

My GBTA has too many bubbles, I hate bubbles.
I want looooong elongated tentacles that sway in the wave !!!

Well, that's just my opinion

see, if you have them, you don't want them, and those of us who don't have them want them. Human nature, I guess.

NoIdea- Mine bubbled when i got it and then poof!..Im gonna do an experiment though. im gonna take the clowns away for a few days and see what happens. Ive seen people say that they lost the bubbles when the clowns where introduced..(although it doesnt make any sense..)..so, we'll see..

hmmm... i have pc's. I stated that my bubbles came back when the fish got taken out.... i put the fish back in my reef almost a week ago... the bubbles dident go away. today they are gone. i changed my lights yesterday... nothing 'stronger' just replaced the 6 month old pcs with new bulbs.

How much flow do you guys have on the RBTA, mine tends to bubble more now that I moved it to a place where there is less turbulent flow.

I've had mine for over a year now and it has gone through stages, but 90% of the time is has bubble tips. I have mine under 400 watt Iwasakis with a pair of false percs, and I never feed it. One thing I did notice is that after the addition of the wavebox it's bubbles got a lot larger.
