Experience with C. multicolor, SPS safe or not?

Some experience with Centropyge multicolor, SPS safe or not?

It's an nice fish, but will my SPS be nice after some days with this angel in my tank?

Thanks.

I had a small juvenile in my old tank. For 2 months he was good, then started nipping all my montipora. Was especially bad with clams.

I have a Golden Angel who nips at the underside of my sps all the time. I don't worry about it though since I have so many he would have to be one hungry fellow to cause irrepairable damage. If I did not get the Golden Angel, I would have definitly got the Multicolor.

I've got a multicolor angel. He came from an established tank with lots of SPS. When I adopted him, I was informed that he was SPS safe. He now is in a full 180 with Zoanthids, xenia, ricordea, and over 30 types of SPS for about one month. No problems at all. I only have two types of Montipora, Digita and a Cap. Love his colors. He eats anything put into the water column. I was told that they come from deeper waters, so many of the shallow water SPS aren't their natural foods. I give this fish two thumbs up. He stays a medium to small size like all Dwarf Angels. Which is good for smaller tanks too.

I've been wanting one of these guys for about a year--a small one. However, I'm just weary after hearing all the pygmy angel horror stories.

Also, I just added a small crocea, so that makes it worse.

angel fish centropyge will nip from time to time. it also has to do with feeding and how large the tank is. If you love your SPS then i would say stay away as you can never tell if they will nip and once they find something they like its all over as they will not stop.

They can be risky. But I have noticed it all depends on fish to fish. I had some that nipped and some that never nipped. So go at your own risk.
