I use to have it in the fuge because you said it doesn't like too much light. It didn't grow and I lost some branches.
It's currently in my 29G with 250W 10K XM bulb |

Oh very nice! I dont know what to think with the reds honestly. Some seem to shun excessive light while others flourish in bright conditions like you've shown with this sample.

I was growning great gobs of the stuff in a previous tank, some under 250w MH some under 30w fluorescent. It also grew in a wide range of water flow.
In my current tank it comes and goes and never seems to get beyond a few 2" strands. I suspect it is responding to nutrients in the water, but who knows... Didn't have many competing green macros in the previous tank though. Fred |

the 7G has a few different types of macro in it right now. most of my exotic macro went into my brothers tank as i collected new corals and needed space... bad idea, he didn't turn on his lights for like 3 months. all the nice macros are gone! *SIGH* |

Wow! That's awesome stuff! Is it Botryocladia? can you cut off a piece and attach it to a rock and start a new plant? If so, would one of ya'll want to sell / give me a frag when it gets warm enough to ship stuff easily? :-D

Doesn't look like Botryocladia.....
And yes you can cut off a branch and glue it to the rock. you can't let it free flow.. it will die. |

I am assuming you glue the side of it to a rock? Or do you glue the very bottom of it? Are you using super glue gel?
Thanks |
