skimmer selection help please

we are in the process of setting up (ripping out the wall now) a 240 gal. 96x24x24 or a 360 gal. 96x36x24 acrylic tank, ref. is 35 gal. and sump is 100 gal. What brand skimmer would handle that water volume,no deltec to much $$$...
Thanks,Marcus & Sandi

Lifereef makes a very nice skimmer, the VS3-72" with a self-cleaning venturi.

www.geosreef.com makes very nice needle wheel skimmers that are awesome and affordable.

The other option is a dual beckett by www.myreef.com

Either way, you will end up spending greater than $500-700 unless you buy used.

I love the lifereef products. They are top quality and hand made.

You can also call for help and he returns all phone calls.

Needle wheel: Deltec nice, quiet, energy efficient, available in alot of sizes. nice skimmer 2. euro reef needle wheel, quiet, energy efficient,3. ASM like euro reef except the plastic is formed somewhat different less expensive, a good value skimmer 4. Bubble king is costly like deltec, limited production and rather cool. They are rather wide if you want a in sump skimmer you need 18" of width to fit and about 24" length.

I have the bubble king skimmer and would recommend the Deltec or bubble king for a needle wheel.

Beckett: I would most likely buy a Barr aquatic systems skimmer, but you need a 100 rtl pump to really run it a full speed. Uses more electric and space.

All these skimmers will work well some slightly better.

I agree... GEO skimmers (and everything else he makes) are VERY nice... He does this on the side as he works and is out of town alot, but it's worth the wait... As Dave stated, priced great...
