2 week old tank
ok i have a 2 wk old tank and check my promiters amd it was
temp= 75 hydrometer=1.23 ph= now about 8.3 was 8.0 nitirite=0 nitrate=20 phosphate=0 amomia=0 cant get over that cal=420 dkh=7.82 i think and stared to get a redish brown alge in tank think thats ok for now but look to get worst could this be part of the cycle iam going through or should do a water change now before it get really bad but the main ? is could i be done with the tank going through its cycle |

I would just wait a couple more weeks to add or do a water change, things seems to get worse befor they get better with setting up a new tank...

If you used well-cured live rock, you might not see any ammonia. I agree that waiting a while is a good idea. The algae is normal.
That temperature is very low, IMO. I target 82. Also, the SG would probably be better at around 1.026, IMO. This article is a good reference: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/index.php

but iam doing a reef tank should it be little colder around 75 or should i just raise it alittle more and the rock is cured amd some un cured
i thought that cold water is good for corals |

Hmm, you should check the link I posted, and also look at www.rshimek.com. The average reef temperature is right around 82. The temperature does vary on the reef, but 75 is not a good base, IMO.

i just jack the temp up too 78 i think u r right i use too have the temp at 79 but forgot its been so long so i fix my chiller to set at 78

Id up the temp a bit, and leave the water alone for a while.
