Calling all 75g

Hey i was just wondering if you people out there who have 75g setups could post pictures of your display tank and also say what kind of rock and how much is there... trying to get ideas for my aquascaping.

Thanks everyone, Mike

Not very good image quality (and the tank was having a "closed-up" day), but here goes

Unfortunately, I got the system used, so I don't now where the rock is from (looks like Fiji, but can't be totally sure), but I do know it has about 90 lbs. You also can't see the aquascaping very well: it's covered in either corals or algae (I hate hair algae!; at least it's just aesthetic, though, and not affecting the tank's health).

Here is a partial shot (mainly shows my sump) Wish I could remember how much and type of rock, but I have had the tank for over 6 years now.

Cool

Mine's only a 72 bow front but here's a pic anyway. I have Tonga and Fiji LR.

Yes, I had it built by Tenecor. I knew I wanted the inwall setup with 2 sided viewing. I was also a newbie and wasn't aware of Starphire glass at the time. I didn't like the idea of the 'green corner' so I had the rounded acrylic made for me. I also had Tenecor use a black background on the back and the opposite short side of the tank from the short viewing side.

I am probably going to use a quiet one 4000 or a quiet one 6000, what do you fellow 72 or 75 galloners think of those, also what about the mag 9.5?

Thanks everyone, keep the pictures coming

I have a Quiet One 5000 return, with 3 Maxi jet 900 on a wave maker. I would think a Mag9 would be fine. There is a head loss calculator on the home page that will help you determine what pump you need. It all depends on the GPH you want or need.

I use a mag 9 for my return. I have a 1" overflow with a 3/4" return line.

Buc, I do have two ph's. I've got one SEIO 1500 (love it) and one MJ 1200. I will probably be replacing the MJ. It's just too weak and the 298 gph flow is like a fire hose. The SEIO is a nice 1500 gph flow that is spread nice across 120 degrees.

I also run a 820 seio, and 2 maxijet 1200s on a wavemaker.

My 75:

Believe it or not but I started out with 10lb of actual LR. I then used lace rock for the remainder for a total of about 86lbs. It has taken a little over a year, but the lace rock has finally colored up very well and is full of life.

Thank you. I'm pretty proud of it. It's not TOTM material, but I think it looks nice all the same.

Actually, I had a very bad HA issue a while back. I kinda think that it was probably contributed to by the lace rock leaching PO4. I have no exact proof, it's just a theory. I put a PO4 reactor on for a couple months running RowaPhos and all has been well ever since.

Nobody gives gen x pumps any love. Buc-If you want a nice external pump you can use a gen x pump. Using a tank will minimize heat issues as well. Just had to get my gen x some love.
