Any quality spray paint will work just fine. Don't want to use cheap stuff & scratch it running power cords down the back of the tank. (Don't want to insult you, but you are painting the OUTSIDE correct?) My 72 gal took 3 full cans of blue spray paint to cover real well - more than I thought it would have.

Yep.
Have you decided on a color yet? Mine is a Royal Blue, hard to get a good even coat on without light & dark spots showing, that's why it took so much. If I had to do it all over, I *might* do a black background. I've seen 2 tanks like this, with 14k bulbs and they look sharp. Also, flat black should cover real good. You could do the final top coat in gloss just for the durability. (It's all glossy from the inside anyway )
