3/4" hose to 1" PVC - how to connect?

I'm building my closed loop and I got my SCWD and the Quiet One 3000 today....I'm trying to use more plastic hoses than PVC if If I can help it.

Questions...

1. How do you connect a 3/4" hose to 1" PVC ?
2. I hate air bubbles with passion...what can i do between connections to avoid them?

thanks

When plumbing my SCWD, I went to Lowes to get my PVC parts. To go from the 3/4" tubing that I connected to the SCWD to my 1" PVC on my return lines, I first found a piece that goes from 1" PVC (S40) to threads. Then I found a piece (this one was a grey in color) to has the 3/4" barbed end on it and the complementary theading on the other end. I used a screw down hose clamp on the tubing side to secure it to the SCWD and the barbs. If you are worried about microbubbles, after you tests all your fits, you can seal tubing my applying aquarium silicone to the fittings as you put them together. It worked for me.

If you use hose clamps (of the proper size) on the barbed fitting connections, you shouldn't have to silicone the connection. spe934' s correct about the 1 inch to 3/4" reducing barbed fitting. Use PVC as musch as you can, because clear vynil hose will accumulate algae on the inner walls faster than you think. I've started to put electrical tape over all my connections between barbed fittings where clear vynil hose was used.
