hey, I'm moving to Boca on the 26th - need lotsa stuff!

hey everybody, I am currently in Columbus OHIO, and I am movin down to Boca Raton on Jan. 26th. I decided to sell off all my stuff here in OH rather than risk killing stuff when I move, so when I get down there I am gonna start rebuilding a dream system, so I will become pretty active here in a couple weeks.

Gonna be looking for someone who can help me build a 100 - 200 gallon completely automated system (auto dose, top off, fuge). I am pretty limited in my workshop skills, but should have a nice budget to work with once I size up my house and figure out how big of a tank I can have.

Anyways, just wanted to say "Hi"

I love aquariums, and I'll help out whereever I can... I have a pickup truck, so I'm free on Sundays to help out on occasion... I also have chaetomorpha so when you set up your refugium I can help you stock it, I also have lots of porous fragments of live rock full of pods and mysis... When you get yours I'll trade you out some no charge to get your fuge seeded. I'm setting up a mushroom propagation, so once that's going (2-3 months) we can strike a deal there. I live in Davie, so I'm not that far from you.

Not the best with plumbing, I'm a hang on back kind of guy, but I can fit pvc together with the best of em. Just not real creative when it comes to function.

I'd be glad to help out where I can. I'm not too far south from boca. I don't check this forum that often though, so PM me when you get down here. I grew up in ohio actually. Only moved here 3 years ago. Dayton area previously. Welcome.

I just moved from Boca to Boynton but still have a lot of contacts in the area and still work in Boca. If you need any referrals let me know. I can recommend and electrician, ac specialist, tank builder, cabinet maker etc. I will also be glad to refer you to anything else in the area that you may need for your new home or just recommend a good place for mexican food I lived there for 16 years.

cool, thanks for the show of support guys!

I just got down here on Friday, Got my internet hooked up, now I just need to get out of boxes to see where a tank is possible to setup.

I kinda bought this house after only seeing it once, kept flying back and forth from Ohio to see houses, and after the 40th one I just basically was trying to get my bid in since places here seem to sell the day after the hit the market for 10% over list price lol.

Unfortunately the house doesn't have a utility sink where I normally do all my work (R/O water, cleaning etc..) might be something I need to install.. then again unlike ohio, you can do stuff outside here

Back to my boxes!

Welcome-you're right about the real estate market, I just sold my home about six months ago and that is pretty much the way it went. Alot of people hook up their equipment/plumbing/chillers outside since we don't have basements.

The market here is insane, hope it keeps up like this so I can cash in when I sell in about 2 years.

Yeah, was thinking I would prolly need to invest in a chiller being that it's so hot here, and most people seem to keep their houses in the mid to high 70's. Can only imagine what some high power lighting would kick the water temps upto. Used to keeping my house at 69/70 in ohio lol.

I bought my townhome in may in pompano beach for 135.... a unit smaller than mine just sold for 164 in the same complex... market is wacko down here....

with my house at 78ish on a 92 corner with a 400wt halide and 2 4" muffin fans the tank hits 81 to 82.... evaporation is a great thing....
tho a outdoor chiller would be nice or go geothermal

I bought my 2 br 1 bath, 10000 sq ft property on Stirling Lake for 132,000 almost 3 years ago. It's now just under 200,000. People are crazy enough to spend that money, I'm crazy enough to take it!

sickman, I am here in Delray. Give a shout if you need anything. My house was on the market for 21 hours and had been shown 14 times when we put in our bid. Value has more than doubled in the couple years we have had it.

email me and we can have a conversation about fish stores and what not. Start off right.

Anyway, welcome.

Carl

If you find a way to get to me, I'll do a half portion for you... $3. Or you can bring me an odd rock with a zoo or shroom on it, I like trading better than cash anyway. I'll be at the bowling, and I'll be at the meeting.
