New Blue Spot Puffer - Safe with Starfish?
I just got a blue spot puffer and was wondering if they are compatible with starfish. I have another tank with 3 large starfish in it and I want to take out the Green Brittle Star and put him in the 120 gallon with the puffer. I have heard that the puffers eat shrimp but what about starfish? The starfish I am putting in there is pretty big if this makes a difference. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Puffers have been known to prey on starfish - they are not generally regarded as invert save. I kept a blue spot with hermit crabs with no problem, but I never wanted to risk keeping them with anything else.

It will probably flip the star over and munch away on the softer underside of the star. Good for the Puffer's teeth though

I have a big green brittle star in my tank. It was in there with a Humu trigger, and is still in there with a dogface puffer. The only time that the star every got harrassed was when it was trying to eat the whole chunk of food I put in the tank for the fish. And when that would happen only the legs would get bitten. However, I don't know how it would work with a smaller speicies like the blue dot.

Based on everyone's responses it sounds like it is best if I don't risk it. Thanks for the help.
