a question on pink skunk clownfish

I'm looking into getting a clownfish and was thinking about amphiprion perideraion. However I was told they need a anemone to thrive more than other clowns, is this true? Also are they hard to pair up.

No they do not "need" an anemone to survive. They are very easy to pair up as well. Of course like any clown they would prefer to have an anemone but they will eventually host in a seragant like a large fuzzy shroom.

I'd eventually get an anemone but my tank has only been up 6months and isn't mature enough for an anemone. Will they host in a quadracolor?

it is possible that they may host. If I recall, e. quadricolor is not a natural host for pink skunks.

My advice would be to simply stick with a pair of clowns, no anemone.

HTH,
Ben
