Talking Stocking ideas? Its my birthday next week and time to get a fish.

Alright, here are my stats:

Tank(reef tank):
77 gal main
20L sump/fuge
dual 250 xm 20000k mh (main)
dual 10000k pcf (sump)

Livestock:
Orange sleeper gobie
six line wrasse
5 pepermint shrimp
40-50 mixed snail (reef, bumble bee, and narci snails)

I have many of these darn glass anenomes!

What does everyone think about a copper-banded b/f?

I also have tuffs of algae growing in the tank and I would like to get another fish to eat this junk that takes away from my tank. Any ideas? I was thinking about a tang, maybe a Achilles, Powder brown, or a purple tang. I was thinking about adding one of these along with what I have as well as maybe a yellow tang.

Just ideas. Also, I am stuck with this tank size for a few years until my soon to be wife will let me get a bigger tank when we buy a house sometime in the future.

Let me know what you think.

Your tank is a bit small for a tang or Copperband. It is definitely too small for both.

Choose a fish in the 3'' range to compliment your reef.

As to the Aptasia and the tuff spots of algae:

You need to cut back on the source of their growth. Take a close look at what and how much you feed.
Some hobbyists over feed there systems, but more often they feed the wrong foods.

Two smaller feedings of the proper nutrients will go much farther than one feeding of foods lacking the proper nutrients.

Do you conduct regular water changes? Is your skimmer rated to handle your tank, and is it maintained?

As to the treatment of both mentioned pest you can use Kalkwasser, a cup of water, and an eyedropper.

Place a half cup of water in the microwave for at least 2mins (boiling), then add two tablespoons of Kalkwasser (stir well).

Turn off any circulatory pumps in the system.
Using the eyedropper; gently squirt a vail of the mixture over the pest (algae, and aptasia) so that they are completely covered.
Let that remain for 2-3mins before turning the pumps back on.

No more pest...

Please remember that Kalkwasser (Lime Water) will raise your Ph.
Therefore if you have an infestation, you should only treat small areas at a time (no more than 1/4 of the tank per day).

Proper tank husbandry and this type of treatment will keep your tank pest free.

Good Luck,
Ed
