Worm ID Please

Hi Dr Ron,

I found this worm on my blue sponge. It kinda looks like a baby sea apple, but I am unsure of it. What is it? Is it reef safe? Filter Feeder?

Thanks.

Hi,

Your tentative identification was pretty good. It is a small filter-feeding sea cucumber. These little guys that are not brightly colored are pretty harmless. I wouldn't worry much about it. Really, the ones you need to worry about are the brightly colored ones; the blah ones generally don't not eviscerate.

For information about cukes, see this article.
