Tons of small SNails - are they bad?

I have a 110 gallon double sided reef for a little over one year. 6 months ago I started seeing small snails appearing. At first, being a bigging reefer, I thought it was an astrea snail offsprint. WHen an experienced friend of mine came to look at my tank he told me that this is a pest and can hurt my corals. Now it's out of control. You can't see them during the day, but at night time hundreds appear on my glass. They have a coneheaded body and have brown stripes across them. Any idea what this is and how I can get rid of it. I was told a six line wrasses would do it, but I've seen no improvement since I've put him in my tank. Any idea what this is and how to get rid of it. Thanks for any help.

Your probably gonna need a detailed picture of the snail for possible identification.

Hi

Gerard is correct. [thanks]. See the "sticky" thread near the top of the forum listings titled, "Need an identification...."

Odds are that these snails are harmless, however.
