Wet/Dry turning into Refug

I'm turning my wet/dry into a refuge and was wondering if this would be fine

Sump area with
Pump heater and skimmer

I figure the wall will prevent sand and other stuff from comming in
and clogging the pump and I plan on putting a net over the opening to catch any dead algae.
Any opinions
The only thing I'm concerned with is macro algae comming through and clogging the pump which is why the net is there.

G,day
I think that you need a better drawing, and a net before your pump will end up getting full and if you dont clean it the pump will cavitate , you are better using a plastic strainner before the pump.
