My tank has no smell at all even when you stick your nose to it so I would think it wouldn't. However if you really don't like the smell, get yourself one of those Bionic Breezes or whatever they are called

Personally I think that humans stink more than fish tanks (body oders, shoes and socks, mold, ect). My tanks do not smell (at least to me).

I have one that I recently started in my bedroom. During the cycling process it did smell like the ocean (which wasn't too unpleasant IMO). Cycle is over now, and the smell is much lesser and dissapearing. You could run some carbon if you are really worried about scent.

i got a 15 gal before my current 10 gal in my bedroom... whenever my sis came to visit she always said she couldn't bear staying long in my room because of the sea smell... maybe she was right, I just didn't smell cuz I was very very used to it... :P

If your tank is running without any stink, then the condition is good. If your tank is smelling bad, there is a problem in there somewhere.

yeah, I also used to have a tank with the live rocks and sand and one brain coral, I didn't put any lights, waterpump, powerhead, or anything that makes the water move... I left it for more than a week in my room... it smelled so bad (think of rotten noodle) I had to throw everything away (including the tank)
