yes you can use just one part to boost your tank into the zone. There are other ways too. I strongly suggest reading Randy Holmes-Farley's articles on Ca and kH, along with just about everything else he has in the Chemistry Forum.

if your ca and/or alk is off, yes you can add them seperatley, but i wouldn't reccomend it.
b-ionic is designed more to maintain ca levels, you can use it to adjust your levles but you're going to end up with a full bottle of alk and a 1/2 bottle of ca. you would be much better off using something like esv's calcium chloride or kent or some other suplement to adjust your levels, then maintaining with b-ionic. Whatever you do, make small adjustments! and test, test, test! and most definately check outRandy Holmes-Farley's chemestry forum for more answers

I was reading a bottle of B-Ionic, and under contents, it lists copper. Is this OK to use in a reef? It kinda made me nervous.

 yes there is copper in there, its a very very small quanity. this has come up on RC before, try searching some threads.
