I used to run 440W of actinics all day to add more blue to my 10k's. After realizing I was wasting electricity to make the 10k's look like 20k's I decided to ditch the actinics and just run 20k's.

The only complaint I have is that I've gotten used to the brightness of 10k's plus actinics. The 20k's by themselves seem a bit dim.

If I decide to keep the actinics, I'll just use them bofore and after the halides are on, but not during.

Another thought I had was to use low wattage NO lighting to adjust the color and brightness of the 20k's or maybe even 10k's.

why not just run a lower wattage of actinics . 440 seems over kill. Wouldn't 110pure blue work to add the extra coloration you would need.

Just my thought's.

It took 440W of super actinic (all blue) to get the color I wanted. I started with 220W and it wasn't enough.

I'll probably just stick with the 20k halides and use nothing else. I like the idea of not having anything but halide bulbs in my hood. I think the tubes are a pain in the a s s.
