Lighting dimmers etc

I am after a product or device that when it powers up light it does it gradully over say a 5 to 10 min period and does the reverse when shutting down ie goes from bright to dim.
Any one heard of such a product or steer me in the right direction.

These Solar Dimmers aren't cheap, but it might be what you're looking for. They range from about $200 - $600 depending on how fancy you want to do.

As far as I know, the solar dimmers are the only ones I know of that are on the market right now. You can buy them from Champion supply and they only work (or atleast certified to work)with VHO bulbs and an Icecap 430 or 660 ballast that is modified as dimmable (new ones should be already)

There is a thread http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hreadid=241524 in which some company is working on something new that might be out early next year.

My 630 has a seperate port (4-pin, I think) for a dimmer. Too bad Ice Cap doesn't make them for their ballasts.
