Upgrading tank

Hello,

I have been fortunate enough to have been given a 125 gallon complete system and am looking to transfer my existing 55 gallon reef. I am getting all the hardware (sumps and pumps, lighting)and the aragonite substrate. (live) What do you consider the proper transfer technique from 55g to 125g including the addition of 60 lbs of reef rock and 40-50 lbs of aragonite sand?

no proper technique needed here. You have plenty of stuff to seed the new tank. So no matter what you do the tank should stabilize in less than a day or two.

I moved from a 70 to a 135 with no problems.

No worries assuming you know the sand goes on the bottom! bahahahaha
