I assume you need something higher level than Sprung's Algae book and web bases? Here one http://omp.gso.uri.edu/doee/biota/biota4.htm
If that might help.

Sprung has an algae book? Is this in the same series as the new coral and invert books?

Another good site is Fenner's -

Post your pics anyway. We'll give it a shot, and people always like to see how others have their tanks set up.

Here's Sprung's book
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...926215-5289603
Price per pund is kinda high, but price per information is quite reasonable. I highly recommend it.

"Marine Plant of the Caribbean, a field guide from florida to Brazil" 1989 Smithsonian Institute Press. ISBN 0-87474-607-8. Brief descriptions of species of common marine plants and where a plant is typically found accompanied by a good quality color picture. I haven't seen Sprung's book so i can't offer comparisons.

a quote from the introduction: "This book has been designed for those individuals who wish to increase their knowledge of the extremely important but often overlooked photosynthetic organisms of the reef. This volume depicts 209 marine plants, including 204 kinds of algae and 5 seagrasses."

I like this book a lot and highly recommend it.

Littler. et al has a newer book. Here is the link to amazon.com:

http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/ts/...739572-2020131

It is for sure the next book I get. Eric said that is the best book he has seen too when I asked him if he had any killer algae books.
