Question Returns

I have a 29g tank that is not drilled and would like to add a sump for a refugium. I understand that I need a overflow setup to get the water out of the tank to the sump. I know I need a pump but what kind of device attaches to the other side of the tank to attach the return hose?? Thanks for any help.

You can put any number of things on the end of the return line. Water flows out of the tank via the overflow, and goes down into the sump. The return pump down in the sump takes the water from the sump, and pumps it back up to the tank. You can get fancy and put something like a seaswirl (a nifty powerhead with a rotating nozzle), or just have an elbow bend and have the PVC just sit right in the tank.
