how to keep a tang alive
I have a 60 gallon reef tank and have always had a hard time keeping tangs alive. I have tried almost all types. i know it is better to have a yellow or Kole tang with my size tank but even those last maybe 6 months at best. What can I do? I was told to get a UV and that should improve the odds of survival. Any suggestions? I don't have a lot of fish but have a decent amount of live rock with corals. Some of my other fish have been alive for years. Thanks

Hi, and....
To Reef Central Tangs are generally considered best kept in large tanks. They do well in clean, highly oxygenated water with good flow/movement. Proper QT procedures greatly increase your odds of keeping one. Good info can be found here: http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hreadid=739380 http://www.wetwebmedia.com/tangs,.htm Tell us more about your tank, setup, and tankmates. A 60g is on the smaller side. Have you considered other fish instead?
