Does this sound like it would work?

I had this idea a while ago and wanted some opinions from veteran diyers. Ive got a 180g 6x2x2 i want to make my reef tank, and i want as big a sump as possible. So would building a plywood box under my stand, and then sealing it with epoxy sealant, or using a pond liner work?

Either option should work fine. If using pond liner you should use 45 mil EPDM. Make sure you fill the tank before fastening it as you can never really predict how the liner is going to fold/stretch to fill the space until you have the pressure of the water in it (I have built several ponds and it really sucks to come up short on liner). If you are going to use fiberglass do a search for fiberglass tanks, there are a bunch on RC. Good luck
