Skimmer has a mind of its own...
Hey guys,
I have a Berlin Classic hooked up to a mag 7 and for two days, it made alot of nice skimmate, about a full collection cup full. I cleaned it out and the next day it was back to wet white foam that wouldnt build up to the top. Did my skimmmer remove all the proteins or at least a majority of them so it can no longer make a thick brown skimmate? Any info or advice is appreciated....thanks

I have heard that oils from your hands, new socks, some fish food with oil (silver sides etc.) can make a skimmer go crazy and not produce bubbles. Alot of people report that after feeding or cleaning their skimmer is not as effective. This usally goes away after a few hours to a day.
Hope that helps. |
