Anyone use this as a float switch? Opinions?
link
Seems like this style of float would work for an automatic topoff, just wondering if anyone has experience with it. I know I can get these locally for quite a bit cheaper than buying a hobby topoff unit like JBJ or Tunze.

those would not work very well. there designed for huge systems where the water levels can vary by 6-8" you shold use a float switch that hass alot less movment in them to activate the device.
here is what i have use in the past for float switches. http://www.mcmaster.com/ go to page 505 and look at item "A" these are plastic tip flaot switches that work well. you will need ot use a relay to use this for higher power loads.
