SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 16 INCHES ARE EXPECTED...WITH LOCAL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 20 INCHES POSSIBLE AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS. IN ADDITION...STRONG WESTERLY WINDS WILL CAUSE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW THROUGH MOUNTAIN PASSES WITH REDUCED VISIBILITIES CAUSING POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW... SLEET... AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

And just think - you could get stuck and have to spend many, many QUALITY TIME hours sitting on the freeway while they clean up the wrecks.

Enjoy it and be careful! We got stuck on the KS Turnpike last week during a whiteout. It took us forever to hobble to the first service area b/c we couldn't tell the road from the snowdrifts. Luckily, it blew over in a couple of hours and we were on our way again.

We don't have freeways in this part of the world.

Oh, and Bart? QUIT HOGGING IT ALL! Right before Christmas we got a bit, foot or so, but they're not calling for diddly in the forecast so far.

i've done that. wife didn't much care for it. it's nice having tires that stick out from the rest of the vehicle.

There is no hotel room *less* expensive than the one you should have pulled into before they put the highway storm gates down...

Ugh...don't I know it....December 13....12" of snow caused me to take 5.5 hours to go 25 miles to get to the hospital to get to my husband who had fractured his ankle slipping in the snow. I was insane by the time I got there. I can't wait to move to Virginia!!
