What "type" of aragonite sand do you guys like?
Hi all!
I'm seriously considering aragonite to replace my silica sand, mainly because I like the way it looks much better. ![]() I was looking for opinions on the different "types". It seems like there's a decently wide variety. I've got a feeling either "Sugar Sized" or "Aragamax" Carib Sea sand may fit the bill well. Also, anyone use "Tidal Meridian" sand? Looks good and I may be able to get it locally at Petsmart... if nothing else, shipping is free right now on orders over $50, which I would need. ![]() What are the downsides to the different varieties? Thanks much! Brandon

Good deal. I was thinking 4" deep, too. My current sandbed is 4".
Do you have a 45g tall? How many lbs did you use? I'm thinking 80lbs should give me somewhere close to 4". Brandon

I love the Aragamax stuff. I used some of the Tidal Meridian when setting up my 29G, and really couldn't tell the difference between it and Aragamax...maybe the avg. grain size is a *bit* smaller.

Awesome... thanks for the replies, guys!
I think I may go with the Tidal Meridian. Hopefully they'll have it at Petsmart. If not, I may just order it with free shipping. ![]() chrismunn: Way to expound, bro. ![]() Brandon
