Part 3B of Randy's Two Part
Hi,
I have been using Randy's two part formula for some time and I am about to add Part 3B once both Part1 and Part2 is done. I am also dosing Mg in this period in order to keep my MG level around 1300-1350. My question is do I need to lower the dosage of 3B as compare to the suggested 610ml since one of the purpose of dosing 3B is to supplement the depleted MG? Thanks, |

If I calculated correctly, 1mL of solution/ gallon of tank water will raise the magnesium in the tank by approximately 12ppm. I'd just add whatever it takes to keep the magnesium up. Any reason you are using 3b as opposed to 3a?

Thanks for the reply.
I am using 3B instead of 3A just I don't have any "magnesium chloride hexahydrate" kicking around and 3B only using Epsom salt. More easy for me. My concern is if my Magnesium level is already around 1300 ppm, will dosing either Part 3B or 3A make my Mg level too high? Should I just skip the part 3A or 3B (since my Mg level is alreay @ 1300?) Thanks, |

If you're doing regular water changes, the third part isn't really necessary. Since 3b is just epsom salts, I would just dose it as needed for magnesium.
