Proper quarantine procedure?

Hi, I have some new fish coming in and just wanted to review proper QT procedure to make sure I do it right. So...

4-6 weeks in tank with no sand or rocks. Pre-seed sponge filter from other tank. Only pvc for shelter.

Can I add some cheato in the QT tank to help filtration and add shelter? My understanding is that one should not.

I am also going to do a Praziquantel bath of 20/mg/L for two hours before QT.

Thanks,
Chris

I wouldnt add the chaeto. To make it easier on yourself do a waterchange on the main tank and use that water to fill the QT up, no having to place sponges etc in the QT to cycle.

4 weeks should be fine. PVC pipe elbows etc will work just fine for hiding. Make sure they are 3 or 4 inch pieces.

I would go six weeks
With the chaeto I don't see why not. If you have to medicate remove it, but just for watching it won't hurt.
